In April of 2009, my wife and I flew to Cartagena, Colombia, in South America and traveled through Colombia, Ecuador, and the north coast of Peru for about three and half months. We traveled primarily by bus, and, when necessary, by truck, taxi, boat, and even horseback. We invite you to enjoy two slide shows of our trip, one of Colombia and one of Ecuador. Peru is coming soon. Comments welcome
In Colombia, we traveled from Cartagena to Medellin; then on to Salento, the Tatacoa Desert, and San Augstin; Popayán; Pasto; the Santuario de Las Lajas; and then on into Ecuador.
We traveled through much of Ecuador for almost seven weeks. We spent time in Otavalo, Quito, Mindo, Riobamba, Quilotoa, Vilcabamba, Cuenca, Puerto López, Guyaquil, Zamora, and the jungle near Las Orquideas. From Guyaquil, we traveled down the north coast of Peru, on our way to Lima.
